We are taking a trip to Arizona. We are leaving tomorrow, driving as straight there as our 4 and 2 1/2 year olds will let us. We will be getting there some time Saturday, staying with John's sister and her family, and then leaving either Sunday late evening or early Monday. Not sure about that yet. Aubrie is going to be staying with John's other sister and her family here in town. (They actually live about 1/4 mile away from our house...)
Yes we are asking for trouble! Yes we are now contemplating why we are still taking this crazy trip. Oh, you want to know why we are..........
John's sister, Jeanie, called about a week or so ago and asked us if we would be interested in trading our Jeep Wrangler for their Chevy Truck. We thought about it and it would be great for our family. Two full rows of seats, a truck bed, a trailer hitch... We can all go in the same car, we can haul our own pellets for our furnace, (we were having to borrow John's parents' truck), we can now look at getting a camper, or at least borrowing the one that my dad has.
So all in all this will be a great trip for us. The getting there and getting back are what is in question. This will be the first time for both of us going back since we moved. It will be the first trip of this magnitude with any of our kids. It will be the first time that Wyatte will be in his birth state since he was three months old. It will be the first time that Nevaeh will have ever been out of state. It will be the first time that I will have been away from any of my kids for this long (about 5 days). It will the first time since we got married that we won't own a jeep. It will be the first time ever in my life that I have owned a truck. It will be the first time since we left Arizona that I will see my brother in law, Marty.
I am super excited and super nervous at the same time. I am sure that Aubrie will be fine, great even. She will be spoiled by two of the most wonderful girls (neices) that I have! She will have tons of fun playing with Asher and Noah and David and Hannah and Mazie. Leanne (hopefully) will enjoy having a baby girl in the house! It is me that I am worried about.
Wyatte and Nevaeh sitting next to each other in the cramped back seat of the jeep worries me. Being very tired and crabby worries me. Sitting in the 5x8 foot jeep with a husband that I love, but we don't always agree on stuff worries me. HAVING to spend this much time with this husband that I don't always like worries me. Getting down to Arizona and not wanting to come back worries me. Driving back to Minnesota worries me.
So please pray for our whole family. Because unlike the negativity (I just reread this and it is pretty negative sorry...) of this post, I am VERY EXCITED for this trip! Look for lots and lots of pictures of our BIG JEEP ADVENTURE! That is what the kids have started calling this trip!
